Essentially, the doctoral program that you choose for your education may be the first step on your road to licensing in this state. Most doctoral level programs can take about 4 years to complete and include both required courses and internships that count towards your total requirements for licensure.
- Beginning near the end of your doctoral program, you can start submitting some of your required documentation to your state board. When you are ready to submit your application packet in total, you should also include a $365 fee that includes both the standard application fee and any fees associated with the background check process.
- The state of Oregon requires that your application process be complete prior to beginning the second half of your supervised experience component. There are specific guidelines to follow during this aspect of the licensing process such as how many meetings are required with your supervisor and the type of experience required during each phase.

You may first be required to sit for and pass the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), which is a national test for professionals in Psychology across the country. A score of at least 500 is needed by the Board before moving forward with full licensing. Oregon also has its own jurisprudence examination that may also be required once the EPPP has been passed. Completion of both tests can solidify your advancement to full licensing in this state.

The renewal period for psychologists is currently 2 years, with applicants required to file a renewal application each odd year. When submitting your renewal application you should also turn in a $784 renewal fee, as well as proof of completion of at least 40 continuing education credits offered through approved providers.
